Update (6/13/2023): Students who would like to change the status from F to J or J to F can file Premium Processing from June 2023. When USCIS announced the expansion of the Premium Processing service for OPT/STEM OPT students, SEVIS SAVVY was among the few to share the news with international students.

Once again, SEVIS SAVVY will be one of the earliest that share a step-by-step guide for international students to learn how to complete the online Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service.

Before we get to the premium processing online application, it is worth noting that the premium processing application is designed to expedite your OPT/STEM OPT application.

Thus, in order to start the online Form I-907 premium processing application, students do need a submitted Form I-765 application whether it is filed via mail or via MyUSCIS (online).

  1. Search “I-907” on the dropdown menu and click I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service

  1. Click “link your case using the Online Access Code (OAC)” to link previously filed OPT/ STEM OPT paper application Form I-765

  1. Refer to the Form I-797 to type the “Receipt Number” which is a combination of 13 letters and numbers

  1. If the address cannot be verified by USCIS, a pop-up message will appear. You can click the “Edit” button and edit the address or if you are sure that the entered address is correct, click the “Ignore” button

  1. Type your “A-Number” or check “I do not have or know my A-number.” The USCIS Online Account number should be auto-filled but if it is empty, you can find the online account number on your MyUSCIS page or check “I do not have or know my USCIS Online Account Number”

  1. Type your legal first and last name as in your passport as well as the submitted Form I-765 and click the “Next” button

  1. Check the premium processing application fee for OPT/ STEM OPT students ($1,685) and review the warning message. If you have warnings, go back to the page and make changes accordingly. If not, click the “Next” button
