Top 20 US college and university by number of F visa students

Are you interested in attending colleges in the United States? To determine which US college and university is the best fit for you, there are various factors to consider such as tuition and fees, locations, rankings, programs, and so on. In this blog post, the list of top 20 US colleges and universities based on the number of enrolled international students will be introduced along with their locations and average tuition and costs.

Although every school is different, universities with a large international student population tend to have an inclusive atmosphere, more services for students from overseas, more opportunities to connect with international alumni, and bigger college towns.

Numbers are calculated based on SEVP’s recent release: 2019 Top 500 F‐1 Schools by Number of Active SEVIS Records Active SEVIS records could be interpreted as the total number of international students on campus, as international students should maintain valid SEVIS record while studying in the United States. At the end of the blog post, you will also see top U.S. employers that have hired international students based on the SEVP reports.

Top 20 US college and university

The numbers show that New York University has the largest international student population on campus followed by Northeastern University and Columbia University in the City of New York. Of 20 US colleges and universities, around half of them are located in the Northeast. However, state-wise, California had the most number of international students. It undergoes another research that states California has gotten the most economical benefits from international students. Overall, public universities have had more students from overseas than private universities.

The average tuition and costs of the top 20 colleges and universities are around $62,071. You can click each tuition and fees to see the original document that I am referring to. Mostly the tuition and costs are for undergraduate international (out-of-state) students for the 2019-2020 or 2020-2021 academic year, otherwise noted on the original document.

F visa holder students can participate in internships through the CPT program and they can engage in employment before and after graduation through the OPT program.
